Raw-
Raw I when a digital camera makes exposure in the image chip, which is recording each amount of light that has hit each pixel .To which then changes into a digital representation.
What happens to the photography depends on if the camera saves the image to the card as a raw file or jpg file .Raw file is date that the chip records with additional information where as jpg is where the camera has liner conversions for example white balance, contrast and saturation sometimes having some bad effects added to the photograph. Basically all really need to know is that the image is built up from individual pixels
Camera manufactures create their own RAW format for example Nikon have NEF, Canon CRW, Fuji RAF and then before being exposed the data is turned into a image and undergoes conventions. And then using the camera manufactures software. RAW can be compared to film as they are similar in the aspect of that film is waiting to be developed as is Raw before using the cameras software.
This could affect the final photo when a JPEG file because they are small and they are compressed to become this and the more compressed the more data that is lost. Therefore effecting the quality of the photography
Question for reflection – How could this impact on your personal practice
Answer – The RAW process to different photographs can impact on my personal practice because when taking the original picture if not got for example the white balance set how want it to be, it can be sometimes difficult to then go onto Photoshop and correct this however with the Raw process and converting you can reset the white balance just as should have before the exposure, therefore increasing the photograph and enabling a editing process not been able to use on photographs when needed before using RAW to different photographs.
Series of different photographs from a single RAW photo
developed own style of photograph RAW post-processing
I feel this is very repeatable as the nature of this style is very simple its simply just adding a lot brightness and then adding more contrast to the picture ,i like adding brightness to photos as it brings the picture to life.
temp - 5300
tint -6
brightness - +50
exposure - +0.68
shadows- 10
contrast - +69
saturation - +67
